How to get there

Fast And Simple Ways To Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Ski Resort

By car:

  • In winter Großglockner Hochalpenstraße is closed (November to April/Mai).
  • Visitors coming from Munich: via Kufstein Süd to Mittersill and Felbertauern Road. When you have reached Lienz you are within a stone's throw of Heiligenblut.
  • Visitors arriving from the East:  via Vienna on Motorway South to Klagenfurt, Villach, Spittal an der Drau and Heiligenblut. 
  • In Summer all drivers coming from the north pass Zell am See and then take Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. That's the fastest and easiest way to come to Grossglockner/Heiligenblut Ski ResortIm Sommer.

Tip: In summer the road is a real Mecca for motorcyclists and motor fans from all over the world!

 

By bus and train:

ÖBB (Austrian Railways) takes you to Mallnitz Station. Heiligenblut is 60 km from there. Or you stop at Lienz/Osttirol Station. Then take the local bus to get to the ski resort, which is 36 km from the station.

Parking in Heiligenblut

...in winter

There are a lot of parking spots at the valley station and the mid-station:

  • Car Park (approx. 3 min. to valley station)   200 parking lots
  • Car Park Rossbach/toll gate mid-station:  approx. 300 parking lots

 

Both car parks are free of charge in winter and very close to the pistes!

...in summer

There are three parking areas available in summer:

  • Car Park Heiligenblut (approx. 3 min. to valley station) approx. 200 parking lots – with costs
  • Car Park Gletscherbahn/Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe with about 800 parking lots – note: toll!
